Markdown formatting options

Markdown is a simple way to format text. With it, you can format on the fly as you type your comments in TeamGantt. Here is a quick reference guide to help you.

These represent the most common formatting in markdown. For more advanced formatting including tables and more click here.


Create to-do lists with markdown

We now offer the option to create to-do lists within a note section or comment attached to a task.

How to create to-do lists with markdown:

1) Simply enter: - [ ] (hyphen, space, left bracket, space, right bracket)

2) Then, enter the text for your item. 

3) If the checklist is in a comment, hit Reply for changes to go into effect. If the checklist is in the gray note section, simply click out of the note to see changes. 

The benefit of creating to-do lists this way is that it allows you to break tasks down in to even smaller to-dos. There's also flexibility in the hierarchy of how these to-do items are structured. For instance, you can structure a list like below: 

Want to formalize to-dos by adding them to the task's checklist? If the list in a comment, no problem! Simply hover over the comment and select the checklist icon that appears at the top right. This will send all of your to-do items to the checklist on the right hand side.
